The brief lifecycle

The strategy check, starting setup, and what each brief stage and asset status means.

The brief lifecycle

Once a brief is saved, it moves through a small set of stages. The brief's page shows where it is and what to do next.

Step 1: the strategy check

On the brief's page, the Strategy check card compares your brief with your captured partnership strategy across four areas: channel, segment, workstream and stage. It takes a few seconds.

The result is advice, not a gate:

  • Ready to continue: the brief fits.
  • Suggestion available: an optional suggested fix or angle is shown. You can edit the brief or carry on.
  • Update needed: you changed the brief after it was checked. Select Check updated Brief.
  • Check not completed: select Try again.

Step 2: start setup

When the check is done, select Start Webinar setup (or Event, Social or Story setup). This records the decision and opens the matching workspace, where you add the details and generate drafts.

Setup starts from the version of the brief you reviewed. Editing the brief later does not change a setup that has already started.

After setup has started, the brief's page shows Open [type] setup to take you back to the workspace, and Edit Brief to update its details.

Asset statuses

Each item a brief produces is either Draft (waiting for your review) or Approved (signed off). The brief shows "Assets: none yet" or how many of its assets are approved out of the total.

On your portal's Deliverables page the same work is grouped as Not started, Blocked, Dispatched, In production, Ready for approval and Approved.
