HockeyStick in Slack
What the agent cannot do
The limits of the Slack agent today, so you know when to use Activate or your consultant instead.
What the agent cannot do
The agent covers everyday partner work. A few things stay elsewhere, on purpose or for now.
Things it will not do
- Work in shared channels. It answers business requests only in your private Messages conversation.
- Change partner figures. Partner revenue, leads, trials and activations come from PartnerStack and are read-only.
- Go beyond your permissions. It can only see and do what your own HockeyStick account allows.
- Act without your confirmation. Every change waits for Confirm.
- Take your programme live or publish your Playbook. Programme go-live and Riley publishing are HockeyStick staff actions. They are not available to client users in Slack.
- Follow instructions hidden in a message. If a message looks like it is trying to instruct the agent, or asks about other organisations or settings, it declines and suggests asking for help.
Things that depend on your setup
- Saving and generating. Creating, generating, approving and logging are available only when your organisation has them switched on. If not, the agent tells you changes and generation are unavailable.
- Credit. Every business request needs agent credit. Only Help works without it.
Things that work better elsewhere
- Saved diagnoses. In Slack, the dormant partner list is shown to you but not saved to HockeyStick.
- Very large requests. Each request has a time and step limit. Ask for something narrower if the agent says it took too long.
- Reviewing long draft details. If a draft is too large to review in Slack, the agent asks you to review it in Activate.
- Partner branding. If a brief needs partner branding, save it in Activate.
If you are not sure whether the agent can help, type Help. It lists exactly what is available to you right now.
