Logging your monthly revenue

How to enter your company's monthly revenue by channel on the Revenue page.

Logging your monthly revenue

Each month you tell Activate how much revenue your company made, split by channel. This is what lets Momentum compare partner revenue with the rest of your business. Open Revenue in the Activate navigation, or select Log [month] revenue on Momentum.

What "logging revenue" means

You are entering your company's total revenue for the month, broken into four channels. You are not entering partner leads, trials or partner revenue from PartnerStack. Those arrive automatically and cannot be edited.

The four channels

ChannelWhat to include
SalesRevenue closed by your sales team.
MarketingRevenue attributed to your marketing campaigns.
Product-ledSelf-serve revenue.
PartnershipsPartner-sourced revenue, as your finance team recognises it.

How to enter a month

  1. Choose the month in Revenue period. It opens on the month that is due. You can go back up to two years to backfill, but not into future months.
  2. Type each figure in thousands. The box shows ",000" beside it and repeats your figure in full underneath, so 1250 reads as $1.25M.
  3. Check the totals bar: it shows the month's total and its partner channel mix as you type.
  4. Select Save [month] inputs.

You do not have to fill in all four at once. Enter at least one figure and save, then come back for the rest. Figures must be zero or more.

When it is due

Revenue for a month is due on your agreed monthly review day in the following month. For example, September's figures are due on your review day in October. The banner shows the Next due date. You can find your review day under Strategy & setup, in Programme settings.

Saving all four channels for a completed month is what unlocks that month's review. See Monthly reviews and recommendations.

Read-only months

A month outside the two-year window, or one that has not started yet, shows "This period is read-only." A figure marked Stale has not been refreshed for a while. Re-save it to confirm it is still right.
