Connect Codex

Add HockeyStick to the Codex command line or desktop app and sign in with your email code.

Connect Codex

Codex connects with two terminal commands. The Codex desktop app shares the same settings.

Codex on the command line

First, add the server. Keep --oauth-client-id, or sign-in fails.

codex mcp add hockeystick --url https://platform-test.hockeystickai.com/mcp --oauth-client-id 59vuHN6HW46UVMfl4LoraKzVGM7A9fjz

Then sign in:

codex mcp login hockeystick --scopes hsai.read,hsai.write -c mcp_oauth_callback_port=6279

The sign-in page opens in your browser. Enter your HockeyStick email address and the code that arrives. Use the email code, not a password or Google sign-in. Accept the permission request, then return to the terminal.

These are the Test values. If your consultant gives you production values, use those.

Codex desktop app

Add this line once to the file ~/.codex/config.toml:

mcp_oauth_callback_port = 6279

Then open Settings, then MCP servers, then Authenticate.

Read-only access

If you only want Codex to read your data and never change it, sign in with read access only:

codex mcp login hockeystick --scopes hsai.read -c mcp_oauth_callback_port=6279
Keep Codex's per-tool approval turned on. Codex then asks you before every change, on top of HockeyStick's own confirmation step.

Port 6279 must be free

Sign-in uses port 6279 on your computer, and Codex does not choose another port if it is busy. If the browser never returns you to the terminal, close whatever is using that port and run the login command again.
