Your one-page strategy: where to compete and how you will win.

Where to Play, How to Win

What this page shows you

This is your strategy on a single page. It answers five questions that build on each other and, together, describe how your partnership programme creates an advantage. The questions cascade, so your answer to each one narrows the choices for the next:

  • "What is our winning aspiration?" what success looks like for you.
  • "Where will we play?" the markets, segments and partner areas you will focus on.
  • "How will we win in chosen markets?" the way you will compete and stand out in those areas.
  • "What capabilities must we have?" what you need to be good at to make that happen.
  • "What management systems do we need?" the ways of working that keep the strategy on track.

Why it matters

A partner strategy that lives in lots of separate documents is hard to act on and even harder to share. This page pulls the whole thing into one connected story, so everyone from your board to your team can see the logic in a minute. Each choice sets up the next, which is what makes the strategy hold together rather than read as a wish list.

How to use it

Read it top to bottom, since each choice explains the one below it. Use it as the reference point whenever you are deciding what to prioritise or say yes to: if something does not serve your aspiration or fit where you have chosen to play, it probably does not belong on the plan. This page is read-only, and your consultant builds it with you. You can download it as a PDF.
