Logging monthly revenue

Record and read your company's monthly revenue by channel, the same figures you enter in Activate.

Logging monthly revenue

Each month you record your company's revenue across four channels: Sales, Marketing, Product-led and Partnerships. You can do this from Slack as well as in Activate. These are your company totals by channel, not partner figures.

Read a month

Ask "Show September revenue". You get each channel's figure (or "not saved"), the total, your partner channel mix, and how far you are above or below your Anchor partner revenue share target, if one is set. The mix needs all four figures.

Log a month

Give the month and the four figures in one message, for example:

"Log September revenue: sales 4.7M, marketing 2.1M, product-led 1.15M, partnerships 3.9M"

If you leave out a channel or the month, the agent asks for it. If the agent is unsure whether your figures are in thousands, it asks; reply "thousands" or "as written".

Check before you confirm

The agent shows you exactly what it will save: each channel, the total and the currency. If figures already exist for that month, it shows them too, because logging replaces all saved figures for that month. Nothing is saved until you press Confirm.

Once saved, the agent shows the month again, and says whether this replaced earlier figures or was the first entry.

Good to know

  • You can log the current month or an earlier one inside your revenue window. Future months are refused, and the agent tells you which months you can log.
  • Amounts must be in your organisation's revenue currency, with at most two decimals.
  • If the figures changed in HockeyStick after you were asked to confirm, nothing is saved. Repeat the request to see the current figures.
  • If the agent says it could not confirm whether revenue was saved, it did not retry. Ask to show that month's revenue before logging it again.
  • Partner revenue, leads, trials and activations come from PartnerStack and are read-only, so the agent cannot record them.
